What is Filling?

Filling is a process of completion of hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs on the skin and connective tissue and decreases by the time. It is used to fill the deep wrinkles, fill under-eyes excavatio and fill the lips.

In Which Areas Can Filling Be Applied?

Filling process is applied to the forehead to remove the wrinkles occur relating to the mimics and to sharpen the lips and to the lips and eye edges to plump them.

What are the Benefits of Filling Application?

Especially the lines starting from the nose and reaching to the edge of the lips, wrinkles coming down from the edge of the lips to chin, wrinkles appearing between two eyebrows or in forehead and the lines that create an image as goosefoot in the edge of eyes are often deep and cannot be fixed by skin abrasion methods. For this purpose, filling materials are used. It is also used to reduce under-eyes excavatio and under-eyes purpura, thicken the lips or sharpen the lips. It contributes to the reduction of the wrinkles, collapse and deformation problems in the application area. 

What are The Periods and Stages of Filling Application?

The application takes approximately 1 hour. While getting started application, to the area where the application is to be performed, the local anaesthetic cream is rubbed off and the area is narcotised. After waiting for a while, the area is cleaned with a special antiseptic liquid. There is no need to run a test before the application. This product which is gel-shaped inside of the special injectors is applied by injecting under the skin of the desired areas with its own special and small needles. At the end of the application, cold compress is applied for 10-15 minutes. Filling process is nearly permanent in 6-12 months according to the nature of the used hyaluronic acid materials. Where the 1 milimeter single filling process which is a standard application is not enough, a second filling application may be required depending on the depth of the wrinkles and deformation and structure of the tissue.

Who Should Avoid From Filling Application?

The filling process is not applied to those with allergies to the filling substance, those who take immunosuppressive treatment, those with neuromuscular system diseases (Eaton-Lambert Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, etc.), who are pregnant and breastfeeding, in areas with active infection and inflammation. The procedure is not performed in the case of the minor with no family member alongside.

What are the Points to Be Considered Before and After Filling Application?

Before and after the procedure, aspirin, blood thinners and alcohol should not be consumed. It’s recommended to come without makeup. Do not take a shower with hot water or go to sauna-Turkish bath and alcohol should not be consumed on the application day.

What Are the Side Effects of Filling Application?

After the application; a temporary swelling, oedema (because of the water retaining of the filling), cyanosis, mild bleeding at the needle entrance, scaling can be seen. In case of swelling, fullness or redness after the application, cold compress should be applied.
